Today, we are thrilled to announce that Probabl has successfully closed a pivotal community funding round, adding an exceptional group of investors to our growing network. As the official operator of the scikit-learn brand, this funding represents a powerful step forward in our mission to help professionals truly adopt our slogan: "**Own Your Data Science**."

This momentous round includes contributions from leading figures in the scikit-learn community, senior data scientists, and key technologists. We are proud to also welcome **Mozilla Ventures** and **Apertu Capital** as strategic partners, bringing their deep commitment to trustworthy AI and cutting-edge technology closer to our mission. Additionally, support from the **French Tech Souveraineté Fund** as part of France 2030’s plan further emphasizes the importance of our work in advancing European technological leadership.

According to **Yann Lechelle**, **CEO at Probabl**:

"*The scientific Python community has rallied around us in extraordinary ways. By broadening our shareholder base to include contributors from our community, we are further aligning our efforts to serve the open-source ecosystem that scikit-learn has shaped. This funding greatly strengthens our mission*."

With this round of convertible notes, we’ve raised a total of 5.5M€ toward our upcoming equity round—fueling our momentum and growth, and continued innovation in open source data science tools. 

## Quote selection from our new investors

“*Open source has played a pivotal role in machine learning*”, said Mohamed Nanabhay, Managing Partner of Mozilla Ventures. “*Our investment in Probabl will support the scikit-learn framework, enabling existing and new innovations in data science and open source AI. We are excited about what Yann and his team will build*”. 

“*Finally, with Probabl.ai as the official commercial support for Scikit-learn, enterprises can confidently scale their ML initiatives*.” according to **Jean-Louis Quéguiner, CEO at Gladia**.

**Travis E. Oliphant**: “*I believe that open-source serves as a foundation for all technology in business today. I'm eager to support and invest in companies that enable open-source communities to connect materially with the incredible economic impact they are already having in the world*.”

**Sylvain Corlay, CEO at QuantStack Ventures**: “*I have known developers of the scikit-learn project for many years, as we have been taking part of the same open-source data science community. What sets the Probabl team distinctly apart is their ability to gather under one roof the minds responsible for one of the most influential pieces of open-source scientific software.” He added: “I am convinced that this team has the potential to craft tools that will resonate globally, ultimately serving the common good and the pursuit of knowledge and discovery*.”

**David Mossaz, Managing Director at Insign**: “*As a Business Angel, Managing Director at Insign and an expert with the European Commission's EIC Accelerator, I've never seen a project as ambitious and promising as Probabl in Europe. We're talking about scikit-learn, the world's most widely used stack for data scientists, and it's a French technology! So when Yann suggested I invest, I didn't hesitate for long. It's a seminal technology, and we need to make sure that it continues to develop and become the standard for the benefit of the community*.”

Peter Wang, Chief AI Officer at Anaconda, Inc.: “*As the founder of Anaconda and a creator of the PyData ecosystem, I believe deeply that the world needs sustainable economic engines behind open source innovation.  I am excited to support Probabl and its mission to ensure that scikit-learn remains an innovative and critical component in the future of machine learning and data analysis*.”

### What's Next for Probabl?

This funding allows us to solidify key milestones, including:

- The acqui-hiring of [Mnemotix](https://www.mnemotix.com), securing invaluable talent to enhance our offerings for enterprise clients.
- The launch of the official scikit-learn certification program, coming in Q4 2024. This program will set the standard for excellence in data science, equipping professionals with sought-after skills.
