Strengthening Stewardship as Probabl Enters Its Scale-Up Phase

A new chapter for Probabl 🚀

Following our recent seed round co-led by Capital Fund Management (CFM) and Serena, alongside Mozilla Ventures, Apertu Capital and France 2030, we are entering a decisive phase of our journey: scaling, monetizing, and serving enterprise machine learning at full speed.

I’m delighted to announce the nomination of François Méro as CEO of Probabl, while I take on the role of Executive President and Chairman of the Board, dedicating my efforts to amplifying our action at the intersection of our communities, our strategic partners, and the broader ecosystem.

François brings a rare and valuable track record at scaling international organizations and in building commercial offerings on top of open source foundations. At Talend, he helped take the company from bootstrapping to IPO, demonstrating how open source, when paired with strong execution, can power world-class enterprise businesses.

At the same time, I’m proud to announce Gaël Varoquaux as Chief Science Officer. Gaël is a co-founder of scikit-learn and one of the architects of modern machine-learning practice. His appointment reinforces our commitment to scientific rigor, long-term stewardship, and continuity between the community and the enterprise world.

With this seed round, we are accelerating the monetization of our solutions, starting with Skore, alongside an expanding portfolio of Customer Services including Support, Certifications, and Professional Services. Our focus is clear: we help organizations that are already familiar with scikit-learn and ML to deliver trusted, transparent, and measurable results in their Data Science and AI initiatives.

None of this would exist without the co-founders, the team, and the ecosystem that brought us here. Probabl was born at Inria, with the support of Secrétariat général pour l’investissement (SGPI), and built hand in hand with one of the most impactful open source communities in the world.
